No Ordinary Blog Shop

Worship at the House of Blues is a residence of daydreams and whimsy established in a secret location within east London. .

This is no ordinary shop. This is a journey into my imagination. A challenge to see how far my vision can reach without recreating tens of the same item. My creations are made in extremely small amounts and each piece will be sold as a numbered limited edition.

Expect something magical.

Like New

I have been busy with the business of making old things into new things.

I found some vintage abandoned broken beaded necklaces. I took them home. I have very carefully and sympathetically taken them apart and am now making them into new things. Restoring them to a new life is part of the Fushigi way.

A New Button

After receiving a couple of requests for an updated button, I have finally thrown one together!

Please feel free to add it to your blogs if you like. Any help in spreading the word is always very much appreciated and will not be forgotten.

I will be playing with more button ideas over the next few weeks so do keep an eye out for your favourites.

Thank you for your continued support!

Many ways of telling tales

I am perpetually on the look out for new ways to tell old tales. The good old stories that we have heard time and time again but still never mind catching their threads once more.

I wanted to play tribute to the tale of the Water Babies:

Borrowed from an illustration by Warwick Goble entitled; "The ladies all gathered gossamer in Autumn".

I hand fashioned these heart shapes out of translucent acrylic myself, by hand. I then painstakingly created the images onto each heart and turned them into a unique hair accessories using high quality and very strong hair bands.

Each heart measures about 5cm across and are numbered limited edition items.

Cost: £4.50 each.

A new Manifesto

Hello! Sorry for the long silence and the lack of updates on here.

I have some news worth babbling on about at last!

The newly named Fushigi Shop is now closed until 2012. I have decided to close it's doors over the festive period as this will give me the time and space to really work on building up some stock. It has been a more difficult task that anticipated to keep making things. Working part time doesn't really help as I often wind up feeling that I am being stretched between two occupations and unable to dedicate myself as fully as I wish to either. I plan to fix this conundrum next year and will be working on a new manifesto for 2012.

I will be making a bunch of things that will include

I also want to work on bettering your shopping experience with me and plan to send all orders out faster to all destinations.

I want to get out there in 2012! So, expect to see me at some unusual market spots during the Spring and Summer. Come over for a little chinwag! I would love to see you.

Please stick with me during my escape to my workshop. I will keep you updated on new things here!
